Bloomfield Center celebrates Black History; highlighting the business owners that contribute to the rich diversity in our downtown.
Throughout the month of February the Bloomfield Center Alliance introduced social media followers to the many Black owned businesses in Bloomfield Center. Thousands of people liked, commented, viewed, and patronized businesses owned and operated by people of color.
Overwhelmingly, people were surprised to find the varied racial and ethnic representation of Bloomfield’s business community. Reinforcing the idea that representation of all types matters.
There were 10 businesses featured in February's campaign - and 30 business owners who identify as Black or African American in total, here in our Downtown.
Those businesses include:
Bloomfield Wax and Skin Care Center
Dev's Jamaican Restaurant
Ritz Walton Wedding Collection
State Farm Insurance- Diane Smith
Stay Glamorous Salon
Tafari Tropics Restaurant
We encourage the community to shop and support black owned, local businesses, and all of the different cultures and ethnicities that make our downtown special.
