Bloomfield Center Alliance seeks Marketing and Events Coordinator

The BCA is seeking a creative, outgoing, and task-oriented individual to help the organization with events, promotions, and social media.  The position is part-time with a seasonally dependent  weekly schedule of between 25 - 35 hours. 

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Organize and manage the implementation of on-going BCA special events, including but not limited to: Dinner Under the Stars Series, walking food tours, pop-up events, and holiday-related activities;
  • Suggest and help organize new events and/or activities that again attract new visitors to the downtown district and help promote its various businesses.
  • Draft and publish frequent and effective social media messaging and communications promoting the district, downtown events/activities, individual businesses, and major developments;
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local business owners, sponsors, and firms brought in to help organize and coordinate large-scale downtown activities such as Harvest Fest;
  • Provide regular reports and updates regarding social media, website, and Constant Contact outreach and growth;
  • Prepare and help distribute event marketing and sponsorship materials as may be deemed necessary and appropriate to help promote events/activities; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Background/Experience:

  • Strong background in events management and demonstrated ability to coordinate diverse events and activities;
  • Exceptional advertising skills using social and traditional media along with technical IT skills to implement same;
  • Demonstrated "hands-on" capabilities in conceiving/directing internet/social media marketing campaigns and messaging;
  • A degree in marketing or related field is preferred, but more important is a proven, demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge in promotion and event coordination; and
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and commitment to following through and achieving identified goals.

Candidate Profile:

The Marketing and Events Coordinator position is a people-oriented position requiring a good deal of interaction with various Bloomfield Center stakeholders working toward s a common vision for this up-and-coming downtown district. This position would be ideal for either a seasoned veteran professional looking for part-time work or recent college graduate interested in gaining on the ground experience and growing with this organization.
