A brand new restaurant is soon to open its doors here in Bloomfield Center. Bringing its spin on southern cuisine, The Wooden Spoon is sure to be an exciting destination for those looking for something different in Bloomfield. Chef Donald Erickson, Jr. is an experienced restaurateur who managed and served as Executive Chef at two successful New Jersey restaurants - Oh Brians on the Green in Clark and The Stage House Tavern in Franklin County. The restaurant's menu will feature"southern style comfort food," including favorites like Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs with Charred Potatoes, Slow Smoked (and sliced to order) Brisket, Memphis style Nachos, and Pan Eggs with Pepper Gravy. The restaurant will also have two full service bars, weekend entertainment, and serve an expansive brunch buffet on Sundays! Chef Junior is very excited about coming to Bloomfield Center because, as he puts it, ". . . we knew that the area was developing at a high rate of speed and will end up being the next hot spot in New Jersey for affordable living, great dining, and easy access to NYC and surrounding destinations. Bloomfield Center has become quite the talk amongst business professionals and we wanted to be part of it."
