Bloomfield Center shows off its robust dining scene in food tour

BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The 1st ever Food Tour presented by the Bloomfield Center Alliance is launching this summer on June 22, 2019 from 2-5PM.
This food-filled trek through Bloomfield Center's business district will include a guided experience with stops for scrumptious samples at 5+ restaurants. The event will provide the opportunity for guests to connect with chefs and owners and feature cuisine ranging from Italian to Jamaican to the American South.
A guide will lead the tour along with staff from the Bloomfield Center Alliance to provide information on the history and plans for the area along with expert tips on shopping for goods and services, living, and food in the Center today.
The Food Tour is one of several events highlighting Bloomfield Center this coming summer. Dinner Under the Stars, a popular event that takes place on Washington Street will return for nine Friday's this summer, as will eight Cruise Nights Car Shows.
"The Food Tour of Bloomfield Center will showcase the incredible, multi-ethnic, creative, and walkable food scene here in Bloomfield Center," says Ollyn Lettman, Director of the Bloomfield Center Alliance. “We have restaurants in the Center that have been open for years like Bloomfield Steak & Seafood and others that just opened this month like Bucco, and we’re excited for people to experience a number of them.”
Several of the restaurants the tour will visit were featured in Pete Genovese's NJ.Com article describing Bloomfield as one of The 15 best under-the-radar dining destinations in New Jersey like Essex Junction Craft Kitchen & Bar and Aki Asian House.
Anthony Lauro, Owner of Anthony’s, a local staple for fresh Italian meals with a rotating menu and of course, perfect cheesecake, notes, “Anthony's has been on Washington Street for nearly 10 years. We’re excited for people in Bloomfield and the area to meet us and see what other gems there are in Bloomfield Center.”
Demian Boroff, Manager of The Wooden Spoon Southern Kitchen and Saloon shared, “We are excited to let people know about the wide variety of events like Trivia Night we host, our commitment to serving New Jersey craft beer, and of course, our brisket ‘burnt ends!’
The Food Tour of Bloomfield Center this June will begin and end at Bloomfield's historic Lackawanna Train Station and involve short walks between restaurants. Participating restaurants in this tour include: Bloomfield Steak & Seafood House, Bucco, Anthony's, Dev's Jamaican Cuisine, The Wooden Spoon Saloon, Aki Asian Cuisine, and Essex Junction Craft Kitchen and Bar.
Participants will also be provided takeaway with information on all restaurants in Bloomfield Center.
